Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest tower, standing 828m high. Construction began in September 2004 and the building officially opened in January 2010. This is an observation deck on the 124th floor, named “At The Top” which is open to the public and provides spectacular views over Dubai.
At The Top is accessed from inside Dubai Mall. Be aware though that you will need to buy tickets in advance (although there is an immediate entry option if you want to pay four times the price). You can take the next available time or specify your preferred date and time when you buy them at the counter.
To get to the top takes less than a minute. It’s a single lift and very smooth, in fact you hardly feel it moving. Once at the top you can walk round, there are glass windows floor to ceiling. There is also a section where you can go outside into the open air. This part doesn’t have a roof but still does have high glass walls. However there are gaps that you can point a camera through and take pictures without worrying about reflections in the glass.
You can spend as long as you like walking round the top. There are toilets and a gift shop although no cafe/restaurant. When you’re ready to come down you simply queue for the lift.
Definitely recommended if you enjoy views from up above.
